CIRT welcomes gifts of stock. Gifts of appreciated securities are a generous and efficient way to support CIRT, and can offer many tax advantages for you. To donate stocks, please contact Jim Kehoe, Treasurer, jim@belrad.com.
You can make a gift through your donor-advised fund. DAFs can be easily set up through a community foundation or your financial institution to serve as a flexible charitable giving vehicle. You can even make a recurring yearly gift through your DAF. Talk with your financial advisor for details. If you would like to establish a DAF, please contact your local community foundation or financial advisor for specific advice. If you are age 70 1/2 or older, the Charitable IRA Rollover allows you to make a direct transfer from an Individual Retirement Account to a charity of your choice. The gift counts toward the donor’s Required Minimum Distribution. You do not pay income tax on the amount transferred to charity nor do you receive a tax deduction for the gift. Donors may give up to a total of $100,000 tax-free during the tax year using the Charitable IRA Rollover.
